CEO and Board Chairman

Jennifer Wise, CPA (inactive) founded Wise Consulting Associates, Inc. in 1996. After holding senior-level positions at various HCM software and consulting firms, Jennifer launched Wise Consulting to provide independent expertise for targeted Human Capital Management and Workforce Management solutions.

Jennifer has overseen the growth of Wise Consulting from three employees to over ninety, first as President, and now as CEO, leading by example with positivity and a commitment to always doing the right thing for clients.

In 2016, Jennifer made the bold and generous decision to transfer ownership of the company she founded to all Wise employees, establishing a one hundred percent employee-owned ESOP (Employee Stock Ownership Plan). Since day one, Wise’s unique corporate culture empowers employees to consistently seek understanding of client goals and provide the expertise and information to optimize results. The ESOP was a natural fit given this ‘ownership’ culture.

Steve Grem joined Wise Consulting in 2016, bringing with him over forty years of leadership experience in all facets of Human Resources Operations. Steve oversees Wise Consulting’s client services practices including Consulting and Managed Services as well as sales, marketing, infrastructure and strategy.

Steve is driven by intellectual curiosity to help clients achieve maximum value on their investment in HCM technology through empowering the functional and practitioner experience and in-depth capabilities of Wise Consulting employee-owners. Steve’s commitment to continuous learning, open communication, trust, and teamwork foundationally supports employee-owners at Wise and directly impacts their success in helping clients attain and exceed goals.

Karen Anikis, SPHR, joined Wise consulting in 2004 with well-rounded leadership experience in various areas of HR management. She has a unique understanding of the consulting role at Wise through having pursued a passion for enabling HR through technology early in her long tenure with Wise.

Her experience in engaging hands-on with clients as a consultant and project manager informs her thoughtful management of Wise’s recruitment process. Karen actively recruits and retains quality professionals who possess the practitioner and functional expertise and commitment to delivering optimal results that Wise has become known for.

Chris Davies, CPP, joined Wise Consulting in 1999. Earlier in her career with Wise, Chris oversaw the Ceridian Dayforce practice, contributing to the growth and depth of knowledge within our Dayforce implementation services.

Chris’ extensive payroll background plus over fifteen years of implementation and Ceridian software experience enabled her to lead our consultants in creatively recommending solutions and delivering results to clients.

As VP of Culture and Innovation, Chris provides executive-level focus and attention on fiercely protecting the service-focused Wise culture that fuels our consultants’ passion for finding the best strategies and solutions for each unique client.

Chris continuously works to expand services for our clients and build collaborations within existing and new partnerships. Her strategic insight, as well as client and vendor relationships, are the cornerstone to Wise’s stellar reputation in the HCM community.

As one of the first certified implementation consultants for Ultimate Software, Marta Williams, CPP, joined Wise in 1998. Earlier career roles in HR and Payroll management positions at Legg Mason and Provident Bank (subsequently acquired by M&T) fueled Marta’s understanding of the challenges that HR and Payroll face when their software is outdated or ill-configured.

Marta believes that having made an investment in a powerful HCM tool like UltiPro, organizations should be enabled to utilize it to its full potential to positively impact employees and the bottom line. With more than one hundred client projects under her belt, she continues to set the vision for Wise’s highly regarded team of consultants.

As VP of Client Services for Wise’s UltiPro by Ultimate Software practice, Marta leads a team of fully certified, experienced UltiPro experts in bringing best in class support services to clients. Empowering her team to clearly understand client goals and guide organizations through optimal set up, implementation and post-go-live support is her top priority.

Jennifer believes strongly in her team’s best in class level of service to clients. Constantly working to facilitate learning for team members to widen their depth of knowledge and develop new skills, Jennifer leads by example.

Her background as a small business owner means she understands the responsibility of her role as employee-owner at Wise. Leveraging over twenty-five years of administrative, IT and operations experience, Lorry’s results-driven management style has forged an exceptional record of increasing operating efficiency through core competencies in project management, human resources recruitment, staff supervision, coaching, mentoring and IT.

Lorry has a knack for evaluating a client’s unique needs and goals and resourcing the right Wise consultants to provide optimal support in achieving success. Payroll processing, tax compliance, quality assurance, team building, conflict resolution and change management skills all fall within Lorry’s wheelhouse.

Denise Parker has been an employee-owner at Wise Consulting since 2015. With over thirty years’ experience in accounting, Denise uses her fiscal know-how to improve profits, reduce costs and develop financial strategies for our organization.

As a member of the Operations team, she leads the accounting squad in billing, preparing budgets, completing forecasting, as well as management of financial reporting, strategic planning and detailed analysis.

Denise creates and implements best practice processes to streamline invoicing and accounts receivable to achieve a better than ninety-five percent collection rate. She manages all aspects of the one hundred percent employee-owned ESOP (Employee Stock Ownership Plan) valuation process and works with external auditors and trustee to ensure compliance.

A champion of process improvement and effective IT solutions, Tom DeStefano became an employee-owner at Wise Consulting in 2016. Tom’s addition to the Wise Operations team brought over twenty years of payroll, technology, and project management experience to our organization. Experience in management positions on both the client side and in multiple payroll service bureaus has given him the insight to understand how to execute large scale change projects with minimal impact to end users.

It is Tom’s desire to understand the “why” of everything as well as his passion for technology that has driven him to continually learn new products and processes with the aim of aligning Wise Consulting’s technology resources to serve the organization and all employee-owners well into the future.

Tom’s commitment to insightful leadership, productive communication and continuous learning empowers Wise team members to experience success in utilizing organizational resources. His initiative in managing projects with an eye toward user education enables smooth implementation of new processes and technology.
