100% Employee-Owned ESOP
After 20 years under our founder and owner, Jennifer Wise, in 2016, Wise Consulting became a 100% employee-owned ESOP.
ESOPs (Employee Stock Ownership Plan) were first introduced in 1956 to provide a structure for company ownership to be transferred to employees over time and without employee individual investment. The ESOP is, in fact, a qualified defined-contribution employee benefit plan, designed to provide supplemental retirement funds. As the company does well, the value of the employees stock (and this retirement fund) increases.
From our founding in 1996, ‘ownership’ was always part of the Wise culture – ownership of client success, ownership of team and partner support, and ownership of company revenue and profits. The ESOP just made it more official. Every person you work with at Wise is a company owner.
