Payroll errors had surfaced. Arnold & Porter management wanted the issues resolved quickly to alleviate any concerns and additional effort employees were taking to validate their paychecks. Was it the system or was the payroll staff underperforming?

Initially, Wise Consulting was engaged to perform an internal audit and fix the problems. The consulting team moved quickly to determine the root cause of the department’s disorder and took immediate corrective action.
At the same time, Wise took ownership to assist the staff to proactively produce accurate and timely results. Within a short period of time, Arnold & Porter demonstrated its confidence in Wise Consulting by requesting that Wise “take over payroll.”
In May of 2000, Wise Consulting began providing full-time on-site managed payroll services. With this, Wise Consulting provided a dedicated, Arnold & Porter specific team that included a Client Service Director, a Payroll Manager and a Payroll Coordinator.
This team oversees payroll-processing activities to ensure effectiveness, accuracy of results, and client satisfaction while performing day-to-day payroll processing, customer support, and self-service system administration services.
