Steve Grem, President & COO

Jennifer Wise, CEO, and Board Chairman

Steve Grem joined Wise Consulting in 2016 as the Director of Operations bringing over 30 years of experience in corporate HR and operations leading client, consulting and vendor provided services in Human Capital Management. Now President and COO, Steve is responsible for supporting the organizations’ suite of operations which includes Managed Payroll, Client Services, Vendor Selection and Consulting Services. Steve’s commitments to continuous learning, open communication, trust, and teamwork foundationally support the ongoing journey to solve clients challenges.

Jennifer Wise, SPHR and CPA (inactive) founded Wise Consulting Associates, Inc. in 1996. After holding senior-level positions at the Bureau of National Affairs, Ceridian, and The Hunter Group (predecessor to Cedar Creston), Jennifer launched Wise Consulting to provide independent expertise for targeted HR and Payroll software. 

Jennifer’s continuing active engagement within the industry, with clients, and with leading vendors, benefits our entire team and is the foundation for the direction and leadership Jennifer provides our firm.

Chris Davies, CPP,  VP Culture & Innovation

Chris Davies, CPP joined Wise Consulting in 1999. Chris formerly oversaw the Ceridian/Dayforce Practice contributing to the growth and depth of knowledge within the practice. Chris’ heavy payroll background and over 15+ years’ implementation and Ceridian software experience, enabled her to lead our consultants to creatively recommend solutions and deliver results. As our new VP of Culture and Innovation, Chris provides executive-level focus and attention on Culture and Innovation to fiercely protect consultant passion and expand services for our clients. Her strategic insight and client and vendor relationships are the cornerstone to Wise’s stellar reputation in the HCM community.

Marta Williams, CPP, VP of Client Services

As one of the first certified implementation consultants for Ultimate Software, Marta Williams, CPP joined Wise in 1998 and rose to her former position of Director, Consulting Services, over Wise’s UltiPro practice, in 2007. As VP, Client Services, Marta leads all of Wise’s technology-related practices, supported by a Practice Operations Manager and Consulting Managers who remain specialized by function and/or supported vendor. Her prior HR and Payroll management positions at Legg Mason and Provident Bank (subsequently acquired by M&T) fueled her passion and understanding of the challenges that HR and Payroll face when their software is outdated or ill-configured. With more than 100 client projects under her belt, she continues to set the vision for Wise’s highly regarded team of Consultants.

Karen Anikis, VP of Human Resources

Karen Anikis, SPHR joined Wise Consulting in 2004. Before becoming Wise’s HR Director, Karen held HR leadership positions at Pegasus Communications and USinternetworking (acquired by AT&T). Fulfilling a passion for enabling HR through technology, Karen developed and grew our vendor selection practice in order to help our Clients find the best HR, Payroll and HCM solutions for their organization. Continuing her commitment to the Employee-Owners at Wise, as VP of Human Resources, Karen works diligently to recruit and retain quality professionals our Clients have come to expect to us.
