Management Team

Jennifer Wise
Jennifer Wise, SPHR founded Wise Consulting Associates, Inc. in 1996 First as a CPA and then as a consultant in Human Resource (HR)/Payroll technology, Jennifer worked with many outstanding organizations seeking to automate their HR/Payroll function. Too frequently, however, individual HR/Payroll managers struggled to communicate their needs to “IT-types” and get the most from their systems. Seeing this, Jennifer developed the vision for Wise Consulting Associates. By combining functional and technical experience, our consultants successfully bridge this communication gap, raising expectations and producing results.

Jennifer served on SHRM’s Technology Special Expertise Panel for five years. She is a frequent speaker at meetings of SHRM (Society for Human Resource Management) and APA (American Payroll Association). In 2007, Jennifer was awarded the Special Leadership Award for Entrepreneurship from the YWCA of Greater Baltimore. Jennifer holds a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from Kent State University.

Prior to Wise Consulting, Jennifer held leadership positions at the Bureau of National Affairs (BNA) and The Hunter Group. In her consulting career, she had the opportunity to work with Legg Mason, ArcelorMittal Steel, Compaq Singapore, EG & G, among others.

This experience benefits Wise Consulting today through broad and long-term industry and vendor interaction. Jennifer’s past hands-on experience, as well as her continuing involvement at a national level, is the foundation for the direction and leadership Jennifer provides to the organization.

Chris Davies
Chris Davies, CPP is the Director, Payroll Consulting Services. Chris’ responsibilities span Wise’s Outsourcing/Managed Payroll, Ceridian Technical, and Implementation services.

Chris’ unique perspective comes from nearly 20 years’ corporate payroll management experience. This hands’ on experience, combined with the broad exposure to Wise’s varied client base, enables Chris to guide the Wise Payroll Services team to deliver accurate, compliant payroll results.

Prior to joining Wise Consulting in 1999, Chris was Payroll Director for a specialty healthcare management organization that was acquired by Magellan Healthcare. Chris is an active member of the American Payroll Association.

Dave Burkitt
Dave Burkitt is Wise Consulting’s National Director, Sales and Marketing. With over 20 years of HR/Payroll technology sales and marketing experience, Dave brings a varied background of several markets including: payroll, time & labor, learning management, outsourcing, HR/benefits and professional services. Dave's in-depth background in the HR/payroll industry, and his experience with large, multi-national organizations, helps Wise Consulting to better understand a marketplace that faces constant change and pressure to optimize both human and financial capital. He is also a certified Six Sigma Professional.

Prior to joining Wise Consulting, Dave was Senior Director for Convergys Employee Care. In this role, he led a team focusing on Global HRBPO to large employers. His team was responsible for annual revenue of over $100M.

Dave’s other past positions include Vice President, Sales for Cedar Group, a leading management and IT consultancy for Human Resources, and Vice President of Sales for ThinQ Learning Solutions. While in these roles, Dave was responsible for managing all North American consulting/software sales and business alliances. Dave has also held strategic selling roles within both Kronos and Ceridian.

Dave received a Bachelors of Business Administration in Marketing degree from Loyola College in Baltimore, Maryland.

Marta Williams
Marta Williams has 31 years of experience in the banking, financial and payroll/accounting areas. In addition to this functional knowledge, she has managed the HRIS at two of her prior organizations as well as directed in-house conversion efforts.

Prior to joining Wise in 1998, Marta held positions including Financial Systems Programmer/Analyst, Assistant Vice-President/Payroll Manager, and Personnel Director and Accounting Officer.

Marta oversees Wise Consulting’s UltiPro® services division and brings outstanding payroll/benefits/general ledger (GL) functional knowledge to her projects. Prior to her management appointment, Marta acted as Project Manager or Lead Payroll Consultant in all of her implementation assignments, where she assisted clients in analyzing their existing payroll, benefits and general ledger requirements and identified and recommended feasible solutions for specific company environments.

Marta brings strong consensus building and facilitation skills to her projects. In addition to consulting on specific system setup, Marta has played a key role in developing and delivering various training courses. She has also assisted organizations with complex report setup using the Cognos Impromptu and Microsoft Access tools.

Gail Wham
Gail Wham, CPP, Payroll Consulting Services Manager, joined Wise Consulting in 2006. Prior to joining Wise Consulting, Ms. Wham was Department Manager/Payroll for MBNA (Bank of America) in Wilmington, Delaware . In this role, Wham was responsible for a payroll of over $1.5 billion that covered in excess of 22,000 employees. In an organization as dynamic as MBNA, this role was key for successfully implementing strategic compensation and policy initiatives. Ms. Wham was with MBNA for over 12 years.

Gail has a tremendous track record of strategic, large organization management experience. Her practical and proven methods for addressing issues from compliance to operational excellence further enhance Wise Consulting's total payroll outsourcing and technology support service offerings. Gail brings a mix of strategic thinking and tactical know-how to our clients.
